IDENTIFICATION

• 6-8 inches.
• Tail not as long as body and head combined.
• Brown with scattered black hairs and a gray underside.
• Small ears and eyes.
• Young rats are similar to mice except for large back feet on rats.
• Requires water daily

• Gnaw marks.
• Damaged goods.
• Prefers meat, fish, cereal and pet and livestock feeds.
• Runs along walls leaving dark "rub marks".
• Burrows into ground inside and outside.
• Droppings.
• Nests with various materials.
